Magnolia Matters - 2018 Fall/Winter
Dear friends, Magnolia Foundation was created in 1980 with the sole purpose of supporting our hospital. In the last 10 years our foundation has expanded its mission to also include health and wellness initiatives for our communities. Mission: We work to ensure a future of good health and quality of life, right here at home. Vision: To create a culture of philanthropy that will change the lives of our communities and our donors Now, in 2018, we have a renewed focus, and we are passionate about spreading the message of the benefits of true wellness. Living in this region of the United States has given us the unwanted title of “unhealthy” as compared to all of the other areas of our country. To date, our Foundation’s journey to establishing true wellness for our communities has included initiatives such as sponsoring health education conferences free to the public, helping create an improved environment for exercise at Crossroads Regional Park, providing startup costs and medications for indigent patients in need of primary care through the Living Healthy Free Medical Clinic, contributing to wellness education in our fifth- grade classrooms through the Kids Get Fit program, purchasing automated external defibrillator medical devices and combat first aid kits for local law enforcement, purchasing equipment for the Alcorn County Rescue Task Force in preparation for disasters, and much more that is funded for Magnolia Regional Health Center. All of our programs, campaigns, and other efforts are geared toward OUR needs, in OUR neck of the woods, here at home. Our foundation has been working hard over the last five years to push our mission and vision out into our communities. We are still in the growing stage, but we have managed to increase our assets over the last five years. As our footprint expands, we have also had the pleasure of increasing our sponsorships and community contributions over that same five years. We have high hopes of growing much more in all aspects of our charity, which will enable us to continue to provide our current programs and increase our efforts in the future. We need your help! Your donations to our cause will help us help you. Good things are in store for us, right here in our hometown. Magnolia Foundation is a Mississippi nonprofit corporation, a Mississippi registered charity, and an IRS approved 501(c)(3) organization. All contributions are tax deductible in accordance with law.
