Magnolia Matters - 2019 Fall/Winter

“The physicians and staff are absolutely amazing at MRHC,” Jessica said. “They have been so intentional with getting to know Della and our family, and they always make sure to check on her in any times of surgery, illness, and wellness. Alicia Pressley-Moss, MD, her Pediatrician, continuously goes out of her way to make sure my daughter is receiving the best care possible.” With the help of the outpatient therapy doctors and staff, Della has been able to grow and, despite her Down syndrome, meet many goals that it was thought she would never accomplish. She is now able to eat and drink after struggling for two long years. She is able to enjoy all the things that kids her age love, like swimming, playing outside, popping bubbles, and dancing. Although Della has some developmental delays, she is in the process of learning sign language and speaking. She signs and speaks equally, so she is excellent at communicating her wants and needs to her family and friends. Della is meeting her milestones earlier than expected because of MRHC’s exceptional interest in her well-being. “Della is such a happy child and a bundle of joy because of all the hard work and dedication of Magnolia and the outpatient therapy,” Jessica said “We love Magnolia.” Della finds comfort in her all her providers at MRHC and looks to them as family, which is exactly what they are to her. Though she is young, she understands that she is loved and cared for by a family far larger than her immediate family. www.MRHC.org MAGNOLIA MATTERS 11
