Magnolia Matters - 2019 Spring/Summer
Luckily for the patients in our region, Magnolia Regional Health Center has a close working partnership with Air Evac Lifeteam, the leading air medical service provider in the United States. The Air Evac 58 team is located directly behind MRHC’s campus in Corinth, and there are five other locations within a 70-mile radius of Magnolia’s campus. This allows the MRHC EMS team and Air Evac crew members to work together to facilitate transfers into and out of the facility more quickly, often resulting in precious time and even more precious lives saved. The proximity of the Air Evac base provides ease of communication between the hospital and Air Evac. With multiple bases located in the region, Air Evac is also able to overlap air medical coverage in times of increased need. Talk about Experience When it comes to the qualifications and training of the Air Evac crews, years of experience are required. Air Evac nurses and paramedics must have at least three years of experience prior to working for the company. The nurses and paramedics must maintain certification in Basic Life Support, Prehospital Trauma Life Support, Adult Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Prehospital Neonatal Resuscitation. Nurses must obtain and maintain one or more of the following advanced credentials: Certified Emergency Nurse, CCRN for critical care, or Certified Flight Registered Nurse. Paramedics must obtain and maintain one or more of the following advanced credentials: Certified Flight Paramedic or Certified Critical Care Paramedic. 2019 SPRING/SUMMER 10
